College Hosts Awareness Video Presentation on World Plastic Bag Free Day

Pookkarathara: As part of World Plastic Bag Free Day, K.V. Ustad Memorial Darul Hidaya Orphanage Arts and Science College for Women organized an awareness video presentation on July 7, 2026, at the college seminar hall. The programme was conducted under the aegis of the D.H. Ethnographic Theatre with the theme “Less Plastic, Less Pollution.”

The event, which began at 10:00 a.m., highlighted the harmful effects of excessive plastic bag usage on the environment and human health through an informative video presentation. Students were made aware of the pollution caused by plastic waste, its adverse impact on wildlife and aquatic life, and the importance of adopting alternatives such as paper bags and reusable cloth bags.

Following the video screening, an interactive session was held with the students, focusing on individual and social responsibility in reducing plastic usage. The programme emphasized that small changes in daily habits can lead to significant improvements in environmental conservation.
