DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS

The Department of Physics was started in 2003. It aims to provide high-quality education in physics within an environment committed to excellence in both teaching and learning. The department started regular B.Sc Physics in 2003. To empower women, the status of the college changed to Women’s College in 2012. The department got expanded with the introduction of the Postgraduate program (MSc physics) in 2017

VISION

Effectively disseminate scientific temper to the coming generation

MISSION

We are committed to imparting quality education both in theoretical as well as experimental physics with special emphasis on learning by doing for socio-economic growth.

OBJECTIVES

  • To produce globally competitive physicists
  • To inspire the students to accept the challenges in physics
  • Students will develop a solid understanding of the fundamental principles of physics, including:
  • a firm conceptual grasp of the central principles of physics,
  • an ability to work with the concepts mathematically, and
  • a functional understanding of how these ideas play out in the real world
  • Provide high quality education in physics within an environment committed to excellence in both teaching and research
  • Ability to synthesize knowledge from different areas of physics
